dealing with death... well sort of.

At the end of each PBL case, we are given a closing statement. It’s meant to wrap things up and give us “closure” if you will. for the most part, they are cheesy one liners like “mark was transferred to a metropolitan hospital” or “stephen leaves the hospital 4 days later with a management plan in place". This week was a little different. We had our first (hypothetical) patient die on us. I know this sound so wrong but, it was almost a bit of a relief. We’ve all been wondering for the past several weeks as to when they (the School of Medicine) were going to “kill” our first patient. It’s now happened and now we can move on.
