here it comes!
so if i open my front door in the morning and see the citycat (that's what the ferry is called) coming, then i'm late. i then have to make a mad sprint to the ferry stop which is about 400? 500? meters away. i haven't missed it yet. but i've come awfully close.
home is at the "west end" stop.
school is at the "university of queensland" stop. duh! ;p
the "ferry" isn't like the toronto islands ferry. it's not this huge bulky boat that bobs up and down. its more like a modified speed boat. its a catamaran (a boat with 2 hulls) with these huge motors that'll leave you plopped on your butt if you're not holding on to something.
it's actually a really nice ride in the mornings (& afternoons for that matter). with the sun shining and the wind blowing... it's sure beats sitting in rush hour traffic!

hm... the short answer to your question is: YES. there is a monthly unlimited pass.
the public transport system in brisbane is a tad complicated to fully explain. basically the rate differs on the amount of travelling that you do.
so for example, my house and school are in the same zone so i only pay for one zone. if i want to go to the city, that's in another zone so i have to pay a little more.
to further complicate things, there are one-way tickets, daily (all day use) tickets, off-peak tickets (weekday travel between 9am and 3pm or weekends), weekly tickets and monthly tickets, 3-, 6-, 12-month tickets, as well as 10-trip saver tickets.
all these tickets can be bought for the use in 1 zone or for the use in up to 23 zones. oh and there is a separate student/concession price. did you get all that?

아주 옛날 자연시간 지금의 Science Class에 그때의 교통수단으로 비행기, 자동차, 배가 있다고 배웠을때 배도 교통수단인가 하고 의아해 했는데, Citycat을 보니 진짜 배도 물건만을 실어나르는 것이 아니고 사람도 움직이게 해주는 교통수단의 하나라는것을 확실히 알게되었다. 너의 blog를 보면서 네가 타고다니는것을 재미있어 할것 같다고 이야기하면 모르시는 말씀 그만하라고 할것 같아 재미 좋겠다는 말은 자신있게 할수 없지만 그래도 너만큼은 너자신이 재미있다고 생각하지않을까 싶다. 지금 너에게 주어진 그 시간들 어렵고 힘든시간임에는 틀림없지만 지나도나면 곧 그시간들을 그리워 하게되리라 생각한다. 후회없이 너의 생활을 즐기기를 바란다.
